Welcome to RRPCC and Slipstreamers.

We were voted British Cycling's "Go Ride" club of the year 2015, a prestigious award only given to one club a year out of a total of over 300 clubs nationwide. We were also awarded Hereford and Worcestershire's Team of the Year 2013 and Redditch Club of the year 2012. Its been a long road from the time when the committee agreed to the formation of a youth section around  the year 2000 but with a lot of hard work and our community spirit we have achieved a lot.

We intend to expand further into the community in 2017 by setting up a disability cycling group. We have close links with schools throughout Redditch and the surrounding district and have been integral each year to the organisation of the professional Tour series event held in Redditch each year.

Our regular training session is at Abbey Stadium Redditch on a Wednesday 6:15 to 7:30. We also run additional sessions at Tudor Grange cycle track Solihull on Friday evenings during the winter months.

We run induction evenings on the first Wednesday of each month where any one interested in joining us can come and have a go. Riders are assessed mostly by our founder Pam Yates and then allocated into one of our ability groups. The first 2 sessions are free and then you will be expected to join the club and each session is £1.50 thereafter. You only contribute when you are there.

Our sessions are run by British Cycling qualified coaches who all have current DBS checks and first aid training. We emphasise the fun element of cycling.

In the summer months we normally run some "Go Ride" races , these are introductory races for novice riders getting riders ready for the cyclocross season which starts in September.

We have enthusiastic racers in the club who have achieved national titles in most disciplines and a good group who regularly race most weekend so there is always someone on hand to offer advice in this area too.

As a club we have strong representation in all the local cycling leagues including Cyclocross, Mountain biking, Track and circuit racing. More information is in the Members pack.

We also run a bike loan scheme where you can apply to take one of the club bikes home and keep it for 6 months before you invest in a good bike for your child. They are mostly Islabikes. These are not kept on site so you can only try one by letting us know so we can bring one along.

If you are interested in joining us email youth@rrpcc.co.uk to let us know you are coming

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to talk to one of us on the admin desk, or to a coach – or to any of the adults standing around.  We pride ourselves on being a very friendly club and I am sure if whoever you talk to can’t help, they will point you in the direction of someone who will.

Happy cycling
